Our service we provide to our customers who raise money for worthy causes has been shut down due to our merchant processer PayPal. They decided it was best to stop doing business with us, and they froze our accounts, and money that our customers raised for worthy causes. We are very disappointed how PayPal is treating us, and our customers.
Here is the exact email we got from PayPal.
We are writing to you in regards to your PayPal Account. As part of PayPal’s compliance program, we request that entities wishing to accept
donations on behalf of a charity or other non-profit organization provide proof of their tax exempt status.
Upon periodic review of your account, it has come to our attention that you are aggregating payments on behalf of multiple non- profit and/or
charitable organizations. Facilitating payments as an aggregator is against our Acceptable Use Policy. In addition, there may be additional
issues in submitting these donations as your own taxable contributions with the IRS.
Due to your failure to comply with our policies, PayPal has made the decision to sever its business relationship with you. While we wish you
the best of success in your future business endeavors, we respectfully ask that you seek another method of payment for your online business.
Your PayPal Account has been limited and there will be no appeals to thedecision. Any remaining funds in your account balance will be held for
180 days from the date of the limitation. Once 180 days has passed, thefunds will be available for withdrawal.
